TT Group gets go-ahead for regeneration of former Shepherd’s Bush Police Station
We have received a resolution to grant planning consent, subject to completion of a Section 106 agreement, to deliver 53 new homes on the site, with 35% affordable, together with ground floor flexible, affordable workspace or community use that will contribute to the vitality of Uxbridge Road.
The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham approved the plans, which will see the existing building demolished to bring the vacant site back into use. Award-winning Formation Architects designed the scheme to be considerate of its context with the site’s neighbours while creating high-quality, well-designed new homes.
Plans for the site include a number of sustainable features including an air source heat pump, PV panels, and green roofs. A central courtyard with planting and children’s play facilities sits within the development. The scheme will also include upgrades to surrounding pedestrian and cycle facilities, as well as additional tree planting on Uxbridge Road to bolster air quality and further contribute to the improvements the scheme will deliver to the high street.
James Bradbury, Senior Development Manager at TT Group said:
“This currently vacant site can deliver substantial benefits for the local community in Shepherd’s Bush, so we are pleased to have worked closely with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham over the last 18 months to reach this point and to have secured approval to move forward with the regeneration. The scheme will provide new high quality and affordable homes for the Borough while also helping to activate and revitalise the high street. The provision of ground floor affordable community use or workspace at discounted rent, as well as plantings and improvements to pedestrian and cycleways, will benefit the whole community. We look forward to continuing to work with the Borough to deliver on other sites within our portfolio.”
TT Group was advised by Newsteer on planning matters.
