TT Group Annual 5-a-side Football Tournament 2024

On Thursday 25th April TT Group celebrated its 12th Annual 5-A-side Football Tournament at Goals Birmingham. Bringing together our biggest turnout to date, with over 220 players taking part from across the Group, including teams from LIH, The Arch Company, as well as 15 external guests’ teams.

It was nice to welcome three new external teams to the tournament – Newsteer, Consil, and Knight Frank as well as catch up with familiar faces from Cooke & Arkwright, Reed Smith, Carter Jonas, BT, Allsopp, Harris Lamb, Gowlings, LocatED, Eversheds, Farebrother, Bray Fox Smith and Turleys.

Each team had a minimum of four matches in the group stage before going through to the knock-out stage of either the main tournament (for the Cup) or the Plate.

The Plate final was between LocatED and ArchCo 5 with LocatED proving triumphant in their first final with a 4:1 win. In the main Cup final, the 2023 winner, Bray Fox Smith retained the title by beating Consil 3:0.

The Lewis Keogh Trophy for best female player of the tournament was awarded to Janice Woodman of TT Group, who played for two teams including the Cup winner, Bray Fox Smith. The best male player trophy was awarded to Joe Bricknell of Bray Fox Smith.

The guest speaker this year was the larger-than-life character, Neil “Razor” Ruddock who presented the medals and trophies followed by telling a few stories about his playing days (and his TV career), and as with Ray Parlour last year, Razor gave us a shout out on Talk Sport on the morning of the tournament.
