Mitzvah Day 2023
Mitzvah Day is a global annual day of social action, where people are encouraged to donate their time and energy, without fundraising, to a diverse range of vital causes that make a tangible difference to those in need in the community around us.
On Friday 17 November, 13 Volunteers from TT Group and Lands Improvement participated in a volunteering project for Mitzvah Day to support our corporate partner St Mungo’s at Vartry Road, Haringey.
The team restored the front and back gardens at a St Mungo’s project in Vartry Road, cleared out overgrown plants, trimmed bushes, cut the grass, and gravelled pathways to make those spaces more user-friendly and enjoyable for the residents.
The group worked hard to transform the garden spaces in Vartry Road, which is hugely significant as it creates a therapeutic space for the clients to enjoy.
St Mungo’s were grateful and commented:
“Having volunteering days such as these allow us to do large pieces of work which would not be possible with just one or two members of staff, not to mention the budget. The team and residents at Vartry Road really appreciate your labour of love in turning our environment around. You have made our garden more trauma and psychologically informed, and this has gone a long way to benefit our clients. The transformation is visible and amazing.”
Huge Thank you to all who volunteered. The group consisted of Peter Sturgess, Natalia Eleuterio, Elis Jimi, Nathalie Renfrew, Reece Burns, David Brown, Natalia Liubchenko, Michelle Ohle, Davey Bloomer, Supriya Rai, Henry Wilkinson, Olivia Cichon and Neethu Tharaprasad.
